Superliiga community! As the regular season is closing out soon, amidst the 2.divari heroes bragging here about their success, team
OBSESSIVE want to conclude regular season experience.
Defense wins championships.As the headline says.
OBSESSIVE management did a nice job of finding and building this team together for many seasons step by step, piece by piece, in particular searching for players that have enough good monitor resolution so all 3 zones would fit. Never ever did team management have in consideration by picking up attackers, that spin close to the boards in midzone awaiting for long outlet pass whilst teammates are battling 4v3 and after receiving puck move like having Parkinsons disease afterwards proceed shooting wacky B-piste. Every offense starts with defense - retrieving the puck from opponent and then building up the play. This model is so far perfectly executed by all 4 regular Obsessive players, as you can see in by teams success so far.
Defensive success wouldn't happen without all 4 players working on that, but in particular that wouldn't work without having on their side one of best YP in the game
burger aka Olofsson, who is a long time Obsessive and been a motor to the team every season, getting awarded in 1/2020 season as best 1.divari YP and got that deserved. Despite having small point production decline his gamestyle hasn't changed which is hard grind in all 3 zones, connecting offense and defense.
Another defensive piece - AP position is taken care of by Latvian(not Romanian, as some may think whilst rubbing floor with toothbrush in Finnish army barracks)
Hedman aka Dahlin who is having his 4th season in Obsessive, enjoying to play defense for this team but also having a lot of fun helping offense out - so far having 5+28 which is new point best for him in Superliiga, all this thanks to the freedom of his on-ice decisions this team allows. Also bringing in some mood changes and emotions to the Obsessive locker room by often being direct in his expressions which I think adds lacking colours to calm and nice environment that this team has.
The best defense is a good offense.Obsessive doesn't only defend, that's a stereotype. No games would be won without goals, and this is exactly what team captain
Groovy provides. 31 goals so far(game against Oulun is not played yet, hello to His Majesty
Japezu) is his new personal best in Superliiga. When he
feels the game he is basically unstoppable when in shooting position. We haven't seen too many of his trademark wraparound goals nor any attempts, which makes look like he has thought about his game a lot, done his conclusions and focused on other scoring ways. Perfect team captain that can lead his team on and off the ice.
And finally - the long scouted and desired Obsessive 4th player, that could replace
bonkers after 1/2020 season -
lordNIPPU. Despite being unconfident and not having his best performance during try-out and team games, he was given a lot of trust credit which he capitalized perfectly. He surprised even his teammates by amazing performance in 1.divari games proving, how he was described before season by independent Superliiga experts
Sloggi and
Shark - smart and underrated player. He has given bonkers chance to stay as myth and legend forever and is a perfect fit in Obsessive puzzle.
Last but not least.Obsessive also has a player growth program.
jepe is perfect example of incredible team development system and strategy, by playing only 3 games with Obsessive this season after what proceeded to Liiga and now represents
Caribbean. Team is really proud and wishes the best to jepe, as he is not put in an easy situation there.
The most consistent player for Obsessive is
Darzins. Taken as an obvious bench/emergency player, but independent Superliiga experts in the pre-season podcast thought different - Latvian was paid a lot of attention and given ton of compliments which I think he has justified by his incredible consistent performance this season.
Season goals.Only 1.divari gold and thus getting qualified to Liiga would justify Obsessive management and player expectations. So that no controversial rules that Superliiga has would force the team of having to play through 3 playoff tournaments in order to be qualified. Get back to Liiga, and prove, that being there last time was not a fluke and prove that they are able to compete with top kiekko players. #POFFIT2
